API v2 is now live

Enterprise-Grade TCPA & DNC Scrubbing API

The ultimate backbone for CRMs and dialers. Instantly identify carriers, detect wireless vs. landline, and map numbers against national DNC registries and serial litigator databases in a single millisecond request.

Unmatched Compliance

Everything you need in one payload

Carrier & Line Type

Instantly map numbers to Verizon, T-Mobile, or Comcast. Accurately detect if a number is Wireless, Landline, or VoIP to route SMS properly.

National DNC Scrub

Cross-reference numbers against federal and state Do-Not-Call registries to seamlessly segment your 10-day vs 90-day inquiry outreach buckets.

Serial Litigator DB

Protect your business from TCPA lawsuits by automatically flagging known serial plaintiffs and professional litigators before you dial.

API Reference

Integrate Scrubber into your CRM, dialer, or custom application to automate your compliance. All API requests must be authenticated using your unique API Key.

Authentication Strategy

Your API key should be passed directly in the JSON payload of your POST request under the apiKey property. You can generate and revoke keys anytime in your Admin Portal.

Batch Scrub Endpoint

Send a POST request containing an array of 10-digit US phone numbers and your API key. We recommend batching numbers in groups of 100-500 for optimal latency.

    "4703903967",
    "4046106924"
  ]
}'

Response Schema

The API returns a JSON array of objects mapping the precise attributes of each requested number.

Property Type Description
phone String The 10-digit string queried.
valid Boolean true if confirmed as standard formatting, false if invalid.
lineType String Returns Wireless, Landline, VoIP, or Unknown.
carrier String Current carrier network name (e.g., "Verizon Wireless").
dncStatus Enum FLAGGED (on state/federal DNC), CLEAN, or UNVERIFIED.
litigatorStatus Enum FLAGGED (Known Litigator), CLEAN, or UNVERIFIED.

Error Codes

Scrubber uses standard HTTP response codes to indicate the success or failure of an API request.

Code Status Resolution
200 Success Request processed successfully. Body contains data array.
400 Bad Request Missing payload, malformed JSON, or missing `numbers` array.
401 Unauthorized Invalid or missing `apiKey`. Verify key in Admin Portal.

Rate Limits & Best Practices

  • Batch Sizes: For optimal performance and to prevent CRM webhook timeouts, send a maximum of 500 numbers per request.
  • Formatting: Strip all special characters before sending. E.g., (404) 555-1234 should be sent as "4045551234".

Frequently Asked Questions

How often is the DNC registry updated?

Our backbone services sync with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) National Do Not Call Registry and state-specific registries daily. Serial litigator databases are updated in real-time as new court filings are logged.

What constitutes a "Litigator"?

A flagged litigator is a phone number historically associated with professional plaintiffs who intentionally set traps to file TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) lawsuits against businesses. Flagging these numbers before dialing is the #1 way to prevent devastating lawsuits.

Do you support international numbers?

Currently, Scrubber is optimized for the North American Numbering Plan (NANP), covering the United States and Canada (10-digit format). We do not currently scrub European or Asian registries.
